Squishmallows are kids’ latest obsession like Squishies and LOL Surprise! toys that came before them. Only Squishmallows are a “toy” of a different breed. It’s a hybrid: part toy, part pillow. Because these super soft plush pillows (which also have adorable little faces) sell everywhere.

What are Squishmallows?

Squishmallows are the “hot new thing” in toys right now, but ultimately they’re fluffier than an imaginative toy. Half character plush (with simple yet super cute facial features) and half super cuddly pillow, Squishmallows is comparable to, say, Disney’s Tsum Tsums. (Side note: What never has it happened to those?) A kid joins the “Squishmallow Squad” once they start their collection. The Squishmallows live up to their name. They’re sweeter and squishier than even a marshmallow! Prepare yourself, parents: if your kids aren’t already obsessed, it’s coming.

Each Squishmallow is a character or animal – and yes, there are Disney-themed ones, including the ever-popular Baby Yoda Squishmallow – with its own unique identity on the label. That’s a big part of the pull factor here. Like LOL dolls, Pokémon, or even TY Beanie Babies, kids feel the need to collect them all.

Some of the more popular Squishmallows – besides the aforementioned Baby Yoda – include Bigfoot, Shiba Inu, Pegasus, Bunnycorn, and the two cows, Belana and Connor (but make sure you have a real cow because according to Reddit, there is some debate as to whether the Jenny the Pink Cow is a fake or genuine Squishmallow).

Where to buy Squishmallows

Squishmallows have pretty much exploded in popularity as the global coronavirus pandemic looms, so for about a year or so, these soft plush toys have been stealing physical and cyber shelves from retailers around the world.

But before you start to feel like Arnold Schwarzenegger in that holiday flick about the super popular toy Turbo-Man (Jingle All the Way, is it?), you’re in luck. The following US retailers still have Squishmallow characters available online.

Amazon

Claire’s

There is a huge disclaimer here when it comes to buying Claire’s Squishmallows. While the infamous teenybopper store has a good variety of Squishmallows, in some cases you can only choose one style of Squishmallow mystery box: as in, you choose the size of a Squishmallow on their website – 12 inches or 16 inches— and then, well, the “style” or the character that appears in the mail may vary.

That being said, there are still some good (albeit very limited) options available at Claire’s that are not mystery box style: the 12 inch Claire Unicorn Plush Toy, 5 inch Koala Plush Toy, 12 inch Puppy Plush Toy (Coral), Happy Rainbow Plush Toy, and more. From now on, Costco has only one official Squishmallow available for purchase, but it is highly coveted: the Star wars Chewbacca plush. The supersize, 20 inches Star wars Chewbacca can be purchased in stores or online for $ 27.99.

More than The paper store—Both online and in store – there are enough Squishmallows key chains in different characters. When it comes to full-size plush toys, however, there’s only one available online: the 12 inch Fairy Spring Fun Plush, for $ 22.99.

Sesame StreetThe online store of the online store offers three Squishmallows: Abby Caddaby 12 inch, 12 inch Cookie Monster, and 12 inch Elmo. The three characters sell for $ 24.99 each online.

If Target is your choice, there’s good news! While Target has a limited supply of Squishmallows at the moment, they still have one (which is more than we can say for many other stores). There are two Squishmallows for sale out there (and super cheap too!): Judy the 11 inch mandarin and 11 inch Fairy Butterfly Plush, both for $ 9.99, each.
