A 21-year-old man has been arrested in Noida for causing a nuisance after a video showing him standing on top of two moving SUVs on a city road went viral, police officials said on Sunday. The man had rotated the video for posting it on social media. The two SUVs used for the stunt were seized, they said.
The stunt of balancing on two moving motorcycles had become famous with Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn’s debut film ‘Phool aur Kaante’. He again performed the ‘Golmaal 3’ stunt using two cars.
Officials here said a video surfaced on social media on Saturday allegedly showing a young man balancing on two moving SUVs on a road in Noida, prompting local police to take action against him under of the Motor Vehicle Act for creating a nuisance with the dangerous stunt. .
“Based on the video, the man was found. He was identified as Rajiv (21), a resident of Sorakha village and was arrested. The two SUVs and a motorbike that were used to do the video were seized,” SHO of the Sector 113 Police Station, Sharad Kant said.
“One of the Toyota Fortuners and the motorcycle belong to Rajiv’s family. He had taken the other Fortuner from a relative for the video. He is not employed but belongs to a wealthy family. He was making the video for the social media only,” Kant said.
Meanwhile, Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissioner Alok Singh praised local police for their swift action and urged parents and guardians of children and young people to be careful.
His advice follows several videos and short clips that have emerged on social media where young boys and girls are seen performing stunts on city roads or public places or engaging in acts deemed ” creating nuisance”.
Two years ago, a Madhya Pradesh police sub-inspector performed a stunt similar to that of Ajay Devgn on top of two uniformed Honda City cars, with video of the event going viral on social media . The policeman was later suspended from duty and fined as well.
