End of night crime by the Far North police, July 19
Tire deflation device deployed, Edmonton
Two girls aged 15 and 17 were arrested yesterday following a foot chase of a suspected stolen car.
It will be alleged that the car was stolen from a house in Norfolk Street, Redlynch, around 11pm on July 17.
Police saw the car several times overnight in the Cairns and Edmonton area before tire deflators were successfully deployed on Peterson Road in Edmonton.
A 17-year-old girl from Yarrabah has been charged with one count of theft and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
A 15 year old girl from Bungalow has been charged with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
Both girls will appear in Cairns Children’s Court.
Multiple offenses, Mooroobool
A 16-year-old boy was arrested for several alleged offences, committed between June 10 and July 18 in Mooroobool.
It will be alleged that the boy broke into several cars, stealing a purse and other possessions.
It will further be alleged that the boy was found in possession of drugs while in police custody.
The 16-year-old boy was charged with two counts of entering the premises and one count of attempting to enter the premises and possession of dangerous drugs.
He was released on bail and will appear in Cairns Children’s Court later.
