One thing we can count on in the plus size fashion community are bloggers and influencers. Those who create content and visuals that many retailers are reluctant to use. This is the case of Chaya from Mechanic Shop Femme and Joyniece from FlyNFluffy with their bridal look book size 3X + Plus!

Finding the perfect dress for the big day is difficult but trying to “Say yes to the dress” when you exceed a size 24 it is even harder.

With Chaya set to marry her longtime partner, Jodyann Morgan, over the next year or so, this project served as inspiration to find their own dress.

“Plus-sized people deserve to see brides on bodies that look like theirs. When I got engaged, I went on a mission to do just that. Today, it is finally a reality. It was a labor of love and passion made as a gift for all of you. Chaya

In this lookbook, we’re lucky enough to get the visuals that we rarely see outside of social media of those over size 24 wearing gorgeous plus size wedding dresses.

Together, Chaya and Joyniece model 10 selected looks, showing us what plus size brides can expect with brands that cater to us.

What brands were in this plus size bridal lookbook?

The lookbook highlights size-inclusive wedding / formal wear brands: eShakti, Sydney’s Closet and Azazie.

Not only were inclusive brands featured in the looks. Corn, Photograph by Mckenna Patterson and Naly’s floral motifs participated in making it all happen. Chaya specifically chose these two companies because they openly support the LGBTQIA + community.

This project shows that “you don’t have to be a size two to feel beautiful on your wedding day.”
