Is Akshan the next League of Legends champion?
Akshan has been rumored as the next League of Legends champion for a while, and fans have finally received a solid hint from Riot.
In League of Legend’s 2021 roadmap released in January, three new champions were announced. The first was Gwen, Viego’s wife’s doll.
The next one was supposed to be the yordle mage, but it was postponed due to The riot decision to release the shooter first.
Since then, rumors have been rife. The illustration above was revealed a few months ago as a shooter, but has not been officially confirmed. An expert found a codename “Akshan” in the Wild Rift mobile game.
The real question is: is Akshan really the next sniper? Are these just not rumors?
The short answer seems to be yes, Akshan is likely to be the next champion. This article will explore how we can be sure of that, as well as the champion’s release date.
Moobeat, the chef of Abandonment @ 20, tweeted a mysterious question. The link leads to a puzzle created by League of Legends. The website reveals the future League of Legends champion.
Follow the connect and Viego will be waiting for you. Click anywhere on the screen and a countdown will begin. Touch his hands and Viego will take you to a new screen to enter a code.
This is the same screen that Moobaat posted. The code is a sequence of characters: ‘-> 8-> 8-> 8-> 8.’
The second screen asks for the name of the potential new hero. The answer is: Akshan.
This will take you to an illustration of the upcoming event, Sentinels of Light. Take a closer look and you will see an unknown character in the lower right corner. It looks a lot like Akshan’s leaked sketch, and the gun in his hands looks like a previously published illustration for the “sniper.”
From there, it seems safe enough to say that this man is Akshan and that he could be released afterwards as a mid-lane sniper.
Akshan could be released in patch 11.14, along with the Sentinels of Light event and the Ruined / Sentinel skin line. Patch 11.14 is scheduled for July 8, 2021.
