Tama Leia Projects Presents Falling in Love
Our conversation is taking place via Zoom across two time zones New York and Los Angeles and although it is quite early, 6am, it looks like she has been up for hours as she mentions her morning activities. She drank her favorite blueberry protein shake and went for a run in the hills to catch the sunrise and a great view of the water.
It is surrounded by hundreds of acres of country land with grazing horses and fresh chicken eggs. It looks like a summer residence in the south of France, but it’s closer to Laguna Beach than the French countryside.
Through the screen, I see her beautiful home with fresh flowers, lush silk wallpaper and stunning oil paintings adorning its walls. His style is impeccable.
And while the sun is still rising, she’s already made contact with her book editor, new assistant, and design team.
Her eponymous clothing line, Tama Leia Luxe, created a buzz all over town with more creative support than she ever dreamed of from the start.
Earlier this month, she shot a beautiful beach campaign with actress Hannah James (Outlander, Mercy Street, Supergirl) actress, Taylor Foster (Dear white criminal minds), and actor, James Hutson, (Babylon, being the Ricardos). She worked with photographer and creative director Randi Bauer, photographer Cassidy Louis and makeup artist Cole Wells to create her vision for her brand. The team captured the beauty of falling in love with these brilliant actors playing a couple in love for the cameras.
“Working with Hannah and James as actors was so enjoyable. Randi, my creative director is brilliant at spotting talent. Together we created a beautiful shoot.
Tama is very happy to be able to integrate fashion into her other projects as well. It works well that her brand is unisex so she can create the kind of stories she likes to tell.
“I like men’s fashion as much as women’s fashion. I used to dress my ex-boyfriend a lot. I particularly remember a trip he made to the south of France where we spent hours in his closet. He just stood there like a doll while I made him try on outfit after outfit.
I labeled each of the items so he knew precisely what to wear each day of his trip. At the end, we both collapsed in laughter at the production I had done helping him pack. We were both so exhausted at the end! It felt like we had just completed a marathon, but he looked amazing on his trip and I was so proud of him.
Funny enough, even though Tama loves fashion, she never had an interest in being a stylist as a profession. She appreciates having her own stylist for her photo shoots. “I also like when people dress me.”
However, she always wanted to create her own designs and have her own brand. “I thought it was the kind of dream that was impossible to achieve. Something that only really established people could have like Victoria Beckham or Stella McCartney.
Not only has she achieved her dream of having her own clothing brand, but on top of that, she also has her own in-house advertising company Floridian Blue PR and a highly anticipated novel to go out. The Woman of Troy will be released later in 2022.
His novel is said to have a distinct Orwellian aspect.
Maybe Tama is someone who has read a lot of dystopian novels, but I find talking to her that her taste extends to a wide range of styles.
She is currently re-reading F. Scott Fitzgerald’s short story, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and Pablo Neruda’s book, Love poems.
She loves books and draws inspiration from so many sources. She even credits her favorite philosophy books on mind and spirit for one of her many inspirations:
“I love learning about the mind and what drives people to do the things they do. I remember the first time I read a book called, survival science, by L. Ron Hubbard I was struck by the author’s words of wisdom. In one part of the book, he discusses the importance, skills and creativity of women. “He’s so observant and precise in the way he recognizes women. It’s a beautiful book.
Tama talks about flipping through the pages of this particular publication and how it has helped her predict the behavior of others, which helps enormously in choosing the people she works with – “There’s a chart in the book that shows you how Understand and map people’s tones to help accurately predict their behavior.
Tama admits that she used to be quite naive about certain people in her life and their intentions towards her. “This is a great book to read before you let someone into your heart, your life, or your world. It can prevent a lot of heartbreak, disappointment, and loss.
Her passion turns to music as I ask her if something else inspired her book… She suddenly dives into all the sounds that helped shape the characters. For his new book. She chose sounds of echoes, symphonic choirs and haunting melodies (TL’s Grammy item). I have the idea of angels singing.
Tama’s mindset, instincts, optimism and passion are quite empowering and instructive. It’s nice to see how the books have helped her succeed in the arts and as a leader. To see her blossom as a woman in such a profound way is truly beautiful.
